Let's get started using So Dialed RC Setup App!
There are various reasons you might be using our RC Setup App:
This guide will walk you through each of these, so let's dig in!
To get started, first you'll need to tell us what car you're driving. Open the app and look for the Add car button, then choose the model of the car you're driving. If you can't find your car, use one of our "Template" setups - these have the typical settings built-in that you'll need for a particular type of racing, like "2WD Off-road" or "4WD Touring Car."
We are adding support for new cars all the time, so if you don't see your car on the list, please Request a New Car Here! If you want your car to be supported quickly, tell your friends to vote, too! We generally cover the new cars for major brands, but if you want a car covered that's a little more niche, get more votes, so we can prioritize it!
Once you've added your car, you'll see two setups in your Setup List - the Kit Setup (the standard settings from the manual) which is there for reference, and My Base Setup which starts with the kit settings.
Tap My Base Setup, and you'll see a setup template (like a digital setup sheet) built specifically for your car with all of its settings (camber, ride height, etc.) and usually with option parts you can choose from like shock springs or pistons.
Now go ahead and start entering your car's current settings, demonstrated here:
We know, we know, entering your setup the first time is a hassle, but after that, it's easy! Going forward, you just need to enter the changes you make, and you won't need to enter the entire setup again.
Notice in the video above we also starred a setting. We recommend starring settings you use often, so they will appear at the top of your list of settings for all setups for that car, making them easier to find.
(For each new car you add, you will need to choose your starred settings - they are saved on a per-car basis.)
You can also see your Starred Settings on the main Setup screen, as seen below, so they're even easier to access:

So Dialed RC Setup App now has an integrated AI Mechanic! Once you have your setup entered, tap the AI Mechanic button at the bottom right, and you can ask specific questions about your setup and track conditions, like:
The AI Mechanic is trained on all race types, so you can ask questions and have a whole conversation as you learn how to set up your car.
You can also read our Setup Tips and Troubleshooting articles to help you learn more about setup theory and how various settings typically affect handling. On the Setting screen (at right):
Okay, so you've got a good starting setup...now what? Well, let's say you're going to a new track next week - that means it's a good time to create a new setup for that track, so you can record your changes at the new track without losing your original setup.
The new setup will be for the new track, while you keep your old setup handy for when you go back to your regular track.
Here comes the magic - tap Create Setup to create a new setup based on your existing setup with just a few taps:
Notice that the new setup is compared to the setup it was copied from, so when you make changes to the setup, those changes will appear in red.
If you want to compare your setup to a different setup (not the one it was copied from), just tap the button right above the "Front suspension" list item on your Setup screen, and you can compare any of your setups to see what changes were made.
You may also have noticed that when creating a setup you have the option to Upload a PDF. Many folks still have setup PDFs sitting around, or they download PDFs from the Internet, and you can upload those PDFs into So Dialed so they're handy at the track, but the app won't understand your individual settings or give AI advice unless you enter your setup manually.
Now that you have your setup entered, it's time to find some new setups! If you have a car that's fairly popular, someone has probably shared setups for it in So Dialed, and you can find them under the Find Setups tab at the bottom of the screen. Roll on over there to check them out.

The Find Setups screen shows the latest setups for any of the cars you've added to your list. (If any cars are missing from your list, swipe down to refresh.) Setups that have received "Thanks" from other drivers or have been copied by other drivers have a heart next to them.
Tap a setup to check it out and see the differences between that setup and your currently active setup:

Tap into the Setting Groups (e.g. Front Suspension, Shocks) to see exactly what's different between this setup and yours. Other options here:
The My Gear function on So Dialed lets you enter tire sets, batteries, and motors ahead of time, so you can switch between them easily without having to type in the details every time, as seen in the video below:
