It depends on your motor and the track. In the 1/12 2WD gp class, racers gear by final drive ratio: 6T and below near 3.67, 7.5–8.5T near 2.59, 13.5T near 1.72, 17.5T near 1.44. On the Prodigy 12's stock 68T spur that is about 19T for 6T and below, 26T for 7.5–8.5T, 40T for 13.5T, 47T for 17.5T. Tight tracks gear down, open tracks gear up.
