What pinion gear should I use on the Traxxas Slash 4X4?

It depends on your motor and the track. In the 1/10 4WD short course truck class, racers gear by final drive ratio: 4000 kV and up near 11.00. On the Slash 4X4's stock 54T spur that is about 19T for 4000 kV and up. Tight tracks gear down, open tracks gear up. For a starting pinion matched to your motor, use the So Dialed Pinion Recommender with the Slash 4X4 selected.

What is the internal ratio (transmission ratio) of the Traxxas Slash 4X4?

The Slash 4X4 has an internal ratio of 3.92:1. Final drive ratio = spur ÷ pinion × 3.92. With the stock 54T spur, a 13T pinion gives an FDR of 16.28 and a 20T gives 10.58.

How many teeth is the stock spur gear on the Traxxas Slash 4X4?

54 teeth. Changing the spur moves every pinion's ratio at once; most racers leave the spur and tune with the pinion.
