What pinion should I run?

Get a recommendation →Shop pinion gears at AMain →It depends on your motor and the track. A hotter motor (lower turns, higher KV) takes a smaller pinion; a tight track wants a lower gear than an open one. Start near the middle of the pinions the Infraction shipped with, run a few minutes, and check motor temperature before going up a tooth. The So Dialed Pinion Recommender gives a starting pinion for your motor where we have class data.
The Infraction has an internal ratio of 2.8:1. Final drive ratio = spur ÷ pinion × 2.8. With the stock 46T spur, a 12T pinion gives an FDR of 10.73 and a 24T gives 5.37.
46 teeth. Changing the spur moves every pinion's ratio at once; most racers leave the spur and tune with the pinion.
Kit shock setup. Part numbers link to AMain.
Out of the box the Infraction runs 2000 cst front, 2000 cst rear, on 6x1.2mm front, 6x1.2mm rear pistons. That is the kit setup; you will need to adjust it for your track conditions. The RC Setup App can help dial it in.
The kit springs are 35mm 4.7N (#330600) front, 40mm 6.6N (#330599) rear. Stiffer springs suit high grip and big jumps; softer springs add grip on slick or bumpy tracks.
The kit diff fluid is 10,000 cst front, 100,000 cst center, 10,000 cst rear. Thicker front adds steering on power; thicker center sends more drive rearward; thicker rear stabilizes the car under throttle.
