Get a recommendation →Shop pinion gears at AMain →It depends on your motor and the track. In the 1/10 2WD f1 class, racers gear by final drive ratio: 21.5T and up near 2.19. On the ICON's stock 88T spur that is about 40T for 21.5T and up. Tight tracks gear down, open tracks gear up. For a starting pinion matched to your motor, use the So Dialed Pinion Recommender with the ICON selected.
The ICON has an internal ratio of 1:1. Final drive ratio = spur ÷ pinion × 1. With the stock 88T spur, a 26T pinion gives an FDR of 3.38 and a 47T gives 1.87.
