It depends on your motor and the track. In the 1/10 2WD short course truck class, racers gear by final drive ratio: 7.5–8.5T near 10.14, 13.5T near 8.94. On the Slash 2WD's stock 86T spur that is about 23T for 7.5–8.5T, 26T for 13.5T. Tight tracks gear down, open tracks gear up. The Slash 2WD has an internal ratio of 2.72:1. Final drive ratio = spur ÷ pinion × 2.72. With the stock 86T spur, a 15T pinion gives an FDR of 15.59 and a 30T gives 7.80.

What shock oil does the Traxxas Slash 2WD come with?
